October 1 on the River

After 3 days of rain the skies cleared this afternoon and this was the view from the river. Sun sets earlier with each passing day. Cool on the river too.  The kayak sits on the surface of the cold water and your legs and butt really feel it. Wearing gloves to hold the cold metal oar.  

The camera didn't quite capture the depth of color of the leaves.

Sun setting in a tree-shaping V makes it look like a rocky landscape.  The crickets are still cricking, but with much less intensity.  Their song is a good-bye.

Another lovely cloud.  Now just waiting for the full moon to rise.
